Swami Vivekananda (Some information) In English (Life)

Swami Vivekananda

At the Dharmasabha in Chicago in 1893, the world was shocked by the thunderclap of a Bengali monk dressed in a purple robe, in whose noble voice the people of the world could recognize India in a new way, he was Swami Vivekananda.
Vivekananda was born on 12 January 183 in Simlapara, North Calcutta.  His father was Bishwanath Dutt, a lawyer by profession and his mother was Bhubaneswari Devi.  Vivekananda's pashaki name was Narendranath Dutta, nickname Bill.  He passed the entrance exam from Metropolitan School and the BA exam from Scottishchurch College.  The proximity of Ramakrishna brought about a huge change in Vivekananda's mind.  Human service became the vow of his life.  After the death of Ramakrishna in 16 AD, he established the Ramakrishna Math at Baranagar.  Overcoming many adversities, he represented India at the World Conference of Religions in Chicago in 1893 and presented Hinduism and Indian heritage to the world.  Upon his return to the country, he set up the Ramakrishna Mission, an organization that continues to work tirelessly to serve the vulnerable.
Vivekananda combined history and socialism with religious consciousness.  The inconsistency of the upper
caste society was caught in his eyes.  He wanted the awakening of the Shudra energy.  He dreamed that a new India would emerge from the plow of the peasant, the hammer of the laborer.  He called on the lower castes, the souls of the humiliated people, to make them relatives.  Vivekananda was the embodiment of the human soul.  Vivekananda has brought religion from the temple-mosque to the people with the words "Where are you looking for God except Taema in many ways".  To him human service was service to God.  Vivekananda gave priority to the awakening of the youth in nation building.  He wanted a self-reliant and healthy youth.  That is why Vivekananda gave more importance to the game of football than Gita.  Vivekananda has written about his views and paths in his books on travelers, East and West, Thoughts, Present India etc.  In these texts there are outstanding examples of prose writing style.  These works have therefore enriched Bengali literature.
Vivekananda died on 4 July 1902.  But his ideology is still active today through Ramakrishna Math and Mission.  Vivekananda's life and words, his liberal religious sentiments and the ideals of humanity have remained a permanent beacon in the life of the Bengali nation.
